Local Walks
Starting from the park we have five lovely countryside walks, through public footpaths and the local area which range in distance.

Enjoying the beautiful Norfolk scenery and perhaps taking in some refreshment in one of our lovely local pubs.

9KM Old Buckenham Pink Route

​Begin at Old Buckenham Country Park Café and head towards the footpath which you will find a small bridge behind the farm animals.
​

Follow the footpath until reaching the main road; turn left onto Banham road and then on your right you will find the woodland track.
​

Take a left through the small village of Stacksford.
​
-
Continue straight onto Hargham Road, then into Fen Street, and proceed into the village.
​

Fancy refreshments? visit The Gamekeeper pub, offering drinks and food.
​

Return through the village of Old Buckenham

5KM Old Buckenham Windmill
Blue Route

Begin at Old Buckenham Country Park Café and head towards the footpath which you will find a small bridge behind the farm animals.

Turn right onto Mill Road and take a moment to view the Grade II* listed Windmill built in 1818 (This is open in the summer months to view inside)

Pass through the village of Old Buckenham (It has two pubs and a shop to explore)

5KM New Buckenham Castle Yellow Route

Start at Old Buckenham Country Park Cafe

Walk to the park entrance, turn right crossing the road to the grassed footpath which will be on your left.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through open fields, sticking to footpaths.
​

Cross the busy junction with caution to reach New Buckenham.
Visit the village shop to collect the castle gate key (donations appreciated) explore then don't forget to return the key!

Visit the shop for snacks or The Kings head pub!
​

You will find The Garden House Pub about 50 meters ahead, offering drinks and food.
